Oregon Fresh Season Promotion
On a Roll for 2011

Building on the momentum gained in recent years, the Oregon Blueberry Commission has approved the 2011 in-state fresh season marketing plan.

While the core of the program continues to be industry media material, media events and consumer-based web information, new this year will be the entry into the rapidly growing world of social media. Twitter, FaceBook and YouTube videos are all scheduled to be up and ready by the mid-June start of the program.

The Ima Blueberry™ character promotion continues to grow in popularity, so much so that a second Ima character will be created to keep up with appearance demands, primarily at farmers markets and community events this summer.

Farmers markets and fresh season retailers will again have point-of-sale display material available to assist with sales efforts and create an awareness of the industry and fresh season availability.

Radio Disney and continued development of the promotions partnership network will also continue. This network has allowed the entry of the Oregon blueberry message in community and corporate events throughout the Willamette Valley. Past promotion partners include; Radio Disney, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Haggen Food & Pharamcy, Ag Fest, Fred Meyer, Safeway, Albertsons, McDonalds, Portland Marathon and many others.
