This recipe for homemade Blueberry Freezer Jam is spiced and is an easy recipe to make and store in the freezer.
Ingredients
- 4 c. frozen blueberries
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 T. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
Directions
- In a saucepan over medium-high heat, add frozen blueberries, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir until sugar has dissolved.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 30 minutes, or until jam has reduced by half, stirring occasionally. The mixture should thickly coat the back of a spoon (and will continue to thicken as it cools).
- Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly in the pan. Transfer to jars being sure to leave ½-inch space at the top for the jam to expand once frozen. Allow to cool completely before adding lids and placing in the freezer.
- Store for up to 1 year in freezer, or up to 3 weeks in the refrigerator.
